The Big O

15 Jan

So i’ve just realised that i can’t say ‘je viens’ to someone when i’m on my way to meet them.

Unless of course somehow, throughout the journey, i have managed to arrive at the height of pleasure.

Why hasn’t someone corrected me earlier!!??

    This is great!
    But you can still say:
“je viens de partir pour venir te voir”…

Live and learn. Who corrected you ?

I was chatting on a French IRC channel last week, and flippantly described something as “un expĂ©rience jouissant.” A very young woman (18, she claims) corrected me — “Le mot est jouissif.”

    So now we know.

      “handy” to know!

And because “experience” in French is feminine,
the correct answer is “une experience jouissive”…

You can of course say “j’arrive” which is what everyone around here seems to say.

“je viens te voir” is OK too, “je viens” on it’s own is a faux pas but it’s only because people have dirty minds. I mean in English if you said “I’m coming” it would be the same.

well i guess i surround myself with dirty minded people. I’m not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed.

I’m French and I don’t think I ever said “je viens” while reaching the height of pleasure, as you wrote

it sounds a bit 70’s French porn to me!

oooh, i can see myself being very 70’s porn in the bedroom!

@TRG: good point, but I take it this song never was a hit in Australia then…
